Welcome

Mission Statement:

The Humboldt Support Team (HST) primary mission is to support the safety and well-being of the university community and to maintain a productive learning and working environment through incident assessment, campus education, and intervention.

Role On Campus:

The HST receives, assesses, responds to and monitors behavior on campus that is disruptive, poses a campus concern, or is a threat to self or others. The purpose of the HST is to provide a multidisciplinary centralized structure for the campus community for early intervention of at-risk individuals through collaboration and effective communication with campus departments, students, faculty and staff. Individuals exhibiting behaviors that are of concern in relation to their personal, physical and emotional well-being should be referred to the HST along with individuals who are intimidating, disruptive, aggressive, or violent. The HST will review all information available on the individual's behavior and background to determine an appropriate action-plan and monitor the individual on a case-by-case basis.

Goals:

  1. To lead a collaborative multidisciplinary effort to promote health and safety for all members of the campus community;

  2. To develop strategies that best utilize campus and community resources to assist students, faculty, and staff and provide early intervention for problem behaviors;

  3. To be a resource for students, faculty, staff and administrators;

  4. To identify and assess potential risk to the campus community.

Purpose:

To support students, faculty and staff through established policies and procedures detecting patterns, trends, and disturbances in individual or group behavior.
